Dean Haitani wowed audiences at the 2019 Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival and he’s back in Bendigo, touring his new album Red Dust, on Saturday 13 March 2021, thanks to the kind folks at The Old Church on the Hill and the BB&RMF crew.
With his unique finger style and soulful earthy vocals, Dean Haitani draws inspiration from blues & roots music, and his love of funk and old school R&B rhythms. An accomplished guitarist/singer/songwriter, over the last 20 years Dean has toured the US, UK & Europe.
His sound comes from his experimentation and his ability to cross many musical genres. Dean’s has honed the craft of both acoustic & electric guitar and his dynamic live performance comprises of foot percussion, a variety of guitars (running octave, delay, distortion, phaser & wah effects) vocals & harmonica.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start with a door charge $10. Talented local artist Luke Harrington will perform the opening set.
The Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets, Quarry Hill, Bendigo.
The Singer/Songwriter Showcase events, staged at the Old Church by the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival crew on a semi-regular basis, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue. The door charge is kept affordable to keep these shows accessible.
Although drinks are available for sale, the focus is on THE MUSIC. If your conversation is more important to you than other people’s enjoyment of the artists’ performance, please take it outside.
Proceeds from drink sales go to supporting the Old Church crew and their many worthy initiatives.
We look forward to your company for an intimate concert experience like you’ve likely never experienced before.
